Completed last year, this beautiful home renovation by Keane & Co Interiors had transformed a traditional and dated kitchen into a contemporary kitchen that blends modern design and minimalism with a sleek and sophisticated colour scheme.

Featuring gorgeous Smartstone Ceniza benchtops for the island and back benches, the kitchen combined flat-front cabinetry with modern handles and cool white panels with the right amount of illumination from indoor and natural light. With a 40mm mitred edge and waterfall on both ends, the Ceniza island provides an area surface large enough to accommodate four leather bar stools for casual dining and a base in a complementary grey.

Interior designer Sarah Keane of Keane & Co interiors explained the design vision for the renovation. “This project was a kitchen, laundry and powder room renovation. The clients wanted a modern aesthetic with pops of colour. The Ceniza was the perfect soft grey to compliment the splashback tiles and the bluish grey featured on the island bench. These tones then complimented the touches of timber incorporated into the design.”

One of the options now available in the low silica and recycled Smartstone NewGen base formulation, Ceniza is a fine grained pale grey engineered stone surface that brings a luxurious appeal to a wide range of joinery finishes. As part of the upgrade of the entire collection to the low silica formulation, Ceniza has been updated and improved to reflect a stronger grain and a more robust, slightly darker tone. With a unique shade of grey, Ceniza is from the stylish Premium range of perennially popular textured surfaces, refined grains and versatile patterns.

To match the beautiful Ceniza benchtops, Keane & Co Interiors chose grey tiles that are laid out in an angled herringbone pattern, resulting to a distinct style that blends all elements harmoniously.
