How to clean

Engineered stone

To help you keep your engineered stone surfaces clean and in top condition, follow the simple cleaning guide below.

Care and maintenance

Although engineered stone will no longer be available in Australia by 1 July 2024, many homeowners already have the surface material installed in their homes as kitchen benchtops, bathroom vanities and other applications.

Please note that installed engineered stone is a completely safe material. Issues surrounding the product are caused by unsafe practices during the fabrication process.

Regular stains

Remove and wipe clean any food particles or spilled liquid with a clean soft damp cloth. For regular stains, mix dishwashing liquid with warm water and put in a spray bottle or bowl. Spray solution on stain and wipe with a non-scratch sponge. Rinse with water and wipe dry with a microfibre or cotton cloth.

Stubborn stains

For dried spills and stubborn stains, remove solids first. Moisten dry food material with soapy solution to make it softer and easier to remove. A wet cotton cloth is recommended for any stubborn stains. Do not use any sharp or abrasive tools that could scratch the surface. Avoid forceful scrubbing as this may result in a loss of shine. Rinse well with water and wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Maintenance

To keep them in as-new, polished condition, regularly clean with a pH neutral household detergent and wipe off with a microfibre cloth. Remember to choose the right cleaning agents that are:

a. pH neutral
b. Non-toxic
c. Biodegradable
d. Streak-free formula

Make it a habit to clean your benchtops daily to avoid food stains and built-up food particles on the surface. Clean up messes when they first occur to prevent long-term damage to the surface. Just a little maintenance will ensure your quartz benchtops look and perform their best for years.
