Grand family home features beautiful Statuario Venato

Featured Colour: Statuario Venato
Project Name: Newmarket House
Interior Designer: Gabrielle Reinhardt, Berkeley Interiors

Featured in a recent issue of Home Beautiful, the Newmarket House is a family home on a grand scale with six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a number of living areas over three levels.

For this project, design and building experts worked together to achieve the design vision and create a warm, welcoming home with fully functional spaces for a couple and their five children.

Interior Designer Gabrielle Reinhardt of Berkeley Interiors used a calming palette of white finishes, soft greys, pale pinks and navy in the living and dining area to set the scene for the rest of the house. Areas were designed to create a unified look but with some variations in colours and finishes adding personality to each room.

“A selection of Australian designer furniture and lighting, custom made furnishings, original contemporary art and some classic designer pieces have been combined to provide a forever home for this family to enjoy,” said Gabrielle who furnished the entire home.

Undoubtedly the heart of every home, the kitchen features maximum storage and was designed to cater for crowds and big family gatherings. Centrally located is the kitchen island, an extremely busy area in this household and big enough to accommodate all seven bar stools.

Berkeley Interiors specified marble-inspired Smartstone Statuario Venato as benchtops and splashbacks, making it a main feature in the all-white kitchen.

“We chose the grey bar stools to reflect the grey in the marble,” said Gabrielle. She said the homeowners prefer the look of marble but wanted a practical surface that would not mark like real marble.  Offering the natural beauty of marble with the durability of quartz, Statuario Venato is inspired by the Italian Statuario, one of three most beautiful marbles in the world.

It was also the practical choice for mum Victoria. “It looks like the real thing but I don’t have to worry about staining from beetroot or wine,” she said.

With its bold grey veins building character in each space, Smartstone Statuario Venato was used not only in the kitchen but also in bathroom vanities and the laundry, creating a quality finish throughout the home and a seamless look.

One of Gabrielle’s best projects to date, this beautiful, modern and highly functional home sits on a hill at Newmarket in Brisbane QLD.
