Statuario Grigio defines kitchen with elegance

A whole house renovation in Melbourne transforms an old and dated yet charming property into a modern and spacious, three-storey home with beautiful Statuario Grigio.

With dramatic natural light coming from newly constructed windows and skylight, the kitchen features high ceilings, original Jarrah floorboards, modern brass pendants, integrated appliances, and an island with a natural look that is as beautiful as a real marble benchtop.

“The Statuario Grigio in particular was selected for its classical and timeless look to tie in with the transitional aesthetic,” according to GIA Renovations designer Georgette Criticos.

In addition to the magnificent application on the island, Statuario Grigio also provided full cladding for the range hood that is pleasantly located in front of a glass window and in between dark cabinetry.

“A definitive statement, the Smartstone Statuario Grigio stone wraps around the island and the ceiling hung rangehood,” said Georgette Criticos. Striking and opulent, the curated palette takes the period home to new heights, infusing a transitional take while showcasing the internal and external details distinct to its Edwardian era home design.

“Minimalistic joinery is refined through the selection of black joinery designed to craft clean lines and concealed spaces. The joinery extends the eye up the grandeur ceilings where the bold joinery meets the Edwardian moulded cornices.”

With sustainability in mind, the homeowners had chosen Statuario Grigio from Smartstone’s low silica Ibrido Colleciton. As one of the most popular surfaces in the collection, Statuario Grigio will transition in Smartstone’s new surface collection to be launched in March 2024.
