Super White stars in coastal kitchen

One of the most popular surfaces in Smartstone’s previous collection, the gorgeous Super White kitchen benchtop with a waterfall edge makes a masterful centrepiece in a holiday apartment in coastal Noosa Hills, Queensland.

Smartstone’s gorgeous Super White was the inspired choice for the kitchen benchtops in this stylish but compact holiday apartment in coastal Noosa, Queensland, where many holiday rentals are undergoing makeovers to appeal to more sophisticated travellers.

Located in a prime resort area in the Sunshine Coast, Noosa has become a popular tourist destination for its beaches, surf, cafes and chic boutiques. For such locations, holiday rental units are, understandably, always in high demand.

This inviting Noosa Hills holiday apartment has recently been redesigned and renovated to offer a high standard of accommodation for discerning holiday makers.

By removing an awkwardly placed pillar, the renovation opened the space and flow into the kitchen and living area. Now central to the unit is the open kitchen which gives the host ample benchtop space to prepare food and, at the same time, enjoy the shared space with the dining and living rooms. For the benchtops with waterfall edges, as well as backbench and splashback, Super White was the perfect choice. Super White recreates a distinctive Brazilian marble featuring tones of grey with contrasting darker grey veining and an overall beautiful cloudy effect.

“The beautiful Smartstone Super White was chosen as an alternative solution to the Superwhite Dolomite [a natural stone] for its practical application and gorgeous visual finish required in holiday units,” said interior designer Jessica Fleming of JMF Design.

The surface choice defies any view that marble-style surfaces only belong in large, luxurious homes. Even a compact space can capitalise on the beauty of natural-looking veined surfaces and they can create a visual impact in well-curated smaller dwellings.

With a mitred arris edge, the Super White waterfall island showcases how a well fabricated edge highlights the beauty of nature inspired engineered surfaces.

Building and interior designer, Jessica Fleming is the creator behind JMF Design. Originally from Sweden and now residing in Noosa, Jess has keen eye for design inspired by the clean lines of Swedish design blended with Japanese, British and Australian influences.

In addition to building and interior design, JMF Design also offer a full furniture and homewares package to refresh homes as well as styling and photo shoot services that are perfect for holiday properties.

Originally a surface in the Smartstone Ibrido Collection, Super White is one of the surfaces that will transition into the Sintered Collection launched in March 2024.
