Perched 120 metres above sea level in picturesque Port Stephens in NSW is The Ridge, a palatial award-winning holiday home built by Greenbuild Constructions , architecturally designed for the discerning traveller looking for a home away from home.

Winner of the Housing Industry Association (HIA)-CSR Hunter Region Home of the Year for 2022, this unforgettable property has all the amenities guests need in one location. Over three glorious levels there are seven luxurious bedrooms, a cinema room, outdoor recreation area with ping-pong table, and a stunning suspended mineral pool on the middle floor.

“We wanted to create a timeless space that was cohesive throughout with tones of natural wood, limestone and shades of grey”, explain owners Matthew and Jacqueline, a brother-sister duo. “For the purpose of a holiday home, it was also very important that we source premium products that are extremely durable”.

Aspiring for the look of natural stone, the owners chose from the latest Ibrido Collection of low-silica surfaces, which paired perfectly with the interiors of the property.

In the expansive open plan living area, Grafite Grigio was used for the benchtop in the gourmet kitchen and adjoining butler’s pantry. Replicating a dark, elegant marble in textural shades of grey and characterised by linear, pale veining, the bench has been finished in a generous 100mm mitered edge, resulting in a look that is both stylish and elegant.

In recognition of its amazing design and over-all impact, the kitchen won the HIA Hunter Region Kitchen of the Year 2022 as well as the best kitchen for the over $60,001 category.

Bi-fold doors run the length of the room, and when opened the outdoor entertainment area and adjoining BBQ kitchen are seamlessly integrated. The continuation of materials and finishes of the Grafite Grigio benchtops and the vertical wood battens by Knotwood, create a cohesive flow throughout.

In the bathrooms, tones of grey are perfectly complimented with the addition of Super White. Despite the white in its appellation, this stunning recreation of the popular veined Brazilian marble is dominantly grey and was selected for the bathroom vanity benchtops. Its semi-matte honed finish and gorgeous contrasting grey veining is a flawless addition against Iron Bronze tapware by Astra Walker and wood accents.

In addition to the top HIA Hunter awards for home and kitchen, the bathroom received the award for Bathroom of the Year 2022 in the over $40,001 category.

“Grafite Grigio and Super White from the Ibrido Collection add a level of luxury and opulence that ensures all benchtops are a showpiece”, say the owners. “They are perfectly suited to the contemporary architecture of The Ridge”.
