“Our design and custom furniture services redefine everyday living by combining refined material craftsmanship with thoughtful, functional design,”
– Federica Leoni, Owner of Petra Interiors
Petra Interiors is a bespoke design studio specialising in handcrafted furniture and interior elements that celebrate material integrity, refined proportions and thoughtful detail.
The studio takes its name from the Gallurese word for stone, a tribute to founder Federica Leoni's upbringing in Calangianus, a small town in northern Sardinia where granite shapes the landscape. With her family once owning stone quarries, Federica spent much of her childhood surrounded by natural stone, an early connection that continues to influence her design philosophy today.
“Our design and custom furniture services redefine everyday living by combining refined material craftsmanship with thoughtful, functional design,” says Federica.
Working with natural stone, sustainably sourced timber and precision-finished metal, Petra Interiors creates bespoke furniture and interior elements that bring character and individuality to contemporary spaces.
It is this shared appreciation for stone, craftsmanship and the possibilities of contemporary design that brings Petra Interiors and Smartstone together.
Expanding its material offering to include sintered stone, Petra Interiors designed two bespoke outdoor furniture pieces for Smartstone's Sydney showroom, using Pietra Luna from the Sintered Collection.
An outdoor bench and planter box complement the showroom's garden setting, showcasing the versatility of Smartstone surfaces beyond traditional benchtop applications. With exceptional UV stability and resistance to heat and weathering, the Sintered Collection combines the beauty of natural stone with the performance required for both indoor and outdoor environments.
“We work closely with clients, architects, and design partners to ensure every piece harmonises with its environment and enhances the way a space is experienced,” adds Federica.
Together, Petra Interiors and Smartstone celebrate the enduring appeal of stone, reimagined through contemporary craftsmanship and innovation.
