Executed to perfection, the light-filled kitchen of this Melbourne home captures the impeccable combination of a classic design and the natural beauty of different elements.

Capitalising on the impressive vein design, Blank + Co Design features the captivating beauty of Calacatta Borghini, one of the 24 surfaces in the Smartstone Sintered Collection of reimagined porcelain surfaces, to deliver a stunning, timeless kitchen that embodies class and subtle luxury.

“This project showcases a beautifully executed take on where traditional meets contemporary kitchen,” said Blank + Co Design owner and interior designer Allison Maino.

Built upon a classic aesthetic, the kitchen uses a canvas of white cabinetry to create a clean, bright, and open space. The choice of shaker-style cabinet doors further reinforces a sense of tradition and longevity that transcend fleeting trends.

“The space features seamless white cabinetry with shaker-style cabinetry that create a clean and timeless foundation. The design is elevated through the extensive use of Smartstone’s Calacatta Borghini on the benchtops, splashback, and waterfall island, bringing texture and subtle luxury to the space,” Allison added.

Through the deliberate use of Calacatta Borghini, the surface has emerged as a key element in the design, draping over the kitchen benchtops with an 80mm mitre, flowing seamlessly up the wall-to-wall splashback, and culminating in a dramatic waterfall island.

Calacatta Borghini is a rare, luxurious Italian white marble from the Carrara region. Carrying the same name, Smartstone’s sintered version of this precious stone is a remarkable recreation that elevates any space with the versatile beauty of its brown-grey veins on a creamy white background.

Created using a ‘sintering’ process, the Sintered Collection offers superior durability and enhanced natural-stone aesthetics, delivering an almost exact replica of the world’s precious marbles in sintered stone.

‘Sintering’ replicates millions of years of the earth’s metamorphic processes by combining advanced technology with natural fusion techniques. Intense heat and immense pressure (30,000 tons) then bind natural minerals to create an ultra-compact, extra-durable sintered stone.

Specialising in timeless interior designs, Blank + Co Design aims to transform ideas and make them a reality by providing mindful and hands-on approach to ensure new build and renovation project expectations are exceeded.
